GV Health commemorates Anzac Day

HEAR FROM GV HEALTH CHIEF EXECUTIVE MATT SHARP AHEAD OF THIS ANZAC DAY.
As we approach Anzac Day on April 25, the way in which we commemorate this year will be very different in that we are unable to come together and gather for the dawn service due to the current restrictions as a result of COVID-19.
However, in unprecedented times like this, it is more important than ever to remember and recognise the men and women who have fought and died for our country and indeed the many current service men and women.
This includes all of the doctors and nurses and other health care staff who have been such a big part of the wars, conflicts and peacekeeping operations around the world.
This year, RSL clubs from across the country are calling on Australians to light a candle at 5.55am on April 25 and stand at the end of their driveway or balcony and hold a minute’s silence to reflect on the dedication, commitment and sacrifice of the brave service men and women, both past and present.
As a community, this sends a powerful message as we commemorate and honour those who have served and continue to serve our country with such endurance, courage and devotion, as we remember those who have lost their lives so that we can all live healthy and free alongside our family and loved ones.
Lest we forget.
