Goulburn Valley Health's Tatura campus resident Pauline Muirhead celebrated an incredible milestone at the hospital's Parkvilla Aged Care Facility this week.
Officially celebrating her 100th birthday on Saturday June 29, Mrs Muirhead was joined by GV Health staff and residents at a special afternoon tea on Monday.
Mrs Muirhead's primary carer and enrolled nurse Sharynne Greening said she was lucky enough to be caring for Mrs Muirhead during her centenary year.
"She kept telling me she didn't want a fuss," Ms Greening said.
But there was much buzz surrounding Mrs Muirhead's birthday celebrations with the residents all counting down to the day.
Parkvilla nurse unit manager Heidi Van den Ende said Mrs Muirhead came into their lives in 2015 and she had been a very good resident since.
"She's a beautiful lady," Ms Van den Ende said.
She highlighted the fact Mrs Muirhead was also responsible for kick-starting the Christmas lunches for those who are alone in Shepparton.
"Her whole life, she has given a lot to charity," Ms Van den Ende said.
Mrs Muirhead attributed her long life to working hard and steering clear of drinking beer.
"I'd like to thank everyone for coming," she said.
"And I only hope I'm with you this time next year."
